MLCF profit doubles in Q3FY25

October 17, 2025 (MLN): Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited (PSX: MLCF) reported a profit after tax of Rs2.73bn for the three months ended September 30, 2025, up 103.2% from Rs1.34bn in Q3FY24.

Earnings per share surged to Rs2.60 compared to Rs1.28 in the same quarter last year.

Net revenue from contracts with customers increased 4.9% YoY to Rs16.5bn from Rs15.7bn, showing steady demand during the period.

Cost of sales rose marginally by 1.3% to Rs10.9bn from Rs10.8bn.

Gross profit jumped 12.7% to Rs5.6bn against Rs5.0bn in Q3FY24. The gross margin improved significantly to 33.9% from 31.6% in the prior year period, indicating enhanced operational efficiency and better cost management.

Selling and distribution expenses declined sharply by 42.5% to Rs774m from Rs1.35bn, showing improved logistics efficiency.

Administrative expenses remained relatively stable, increasing marginally by 0.1% to Rs587m.

Other income surged dramatically by 2,477.1% to Rs498m from Rs19m last year, contributing significantly to profitability.

Other operating expenses increased 5.1% to Rs232m, while net impairment loss on financial assets remained unchanged at Rs90m.

The company recorded an operating profit of Rs4.4bn, up 60.9% from Rs2.7bn in Q3FY24.

Finance costs decreased substantially by 41.2% to Rs397m from Rs675m, while finance income increased 70.6% to Rs61m. Net finance cost reduced by 47.5% to Rs335m from Rs639m.

The company also reported a share of loss in associated company of Rs3.1m during the quarter.

Profit before taxation reached Rs4.1bn, up 92.96% from Rs2.1bn in the corresponding period last year.

The company incurred final taxes-levy of Rs16.7m during the quarter. Taxation increased 74.7% to Rs1.3bn from Rs757m in the prior period.

The company concluded Q3FY25 with a net profit of Rs2.73bn, delivering an impressive net profit margin of 16.6% compared to 8.5% in Q3FY24, marking a substantial improvement in bottom-line performance.
