April 29, 2026 (MLN): Attock Petroleum Limited (PSX: APL) reported a robust 91.78% year-on-year expansion in profit for the period for the nine months ended March 31, 2026, recording Rs14.76bn compared to Rs7.70bn in the corresponding period last year.
The company's basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) climbed 91.77% to Rs118.67, up from Rs61.88 in 9MFY25, showing exceptional value accretion for shareholders during the period.
APL's net sales posted a 6.61% year-on-year increase, rising to Rs369.65bn from Rs346.74bn. Cost of products sold grew at a considerably more contained pace of 2.58% to Rs341.93bn, well below the revenue growth rate.
This allowed gross profit to more than double to Rs27.72bn from Rs13.41bn, providing a powerful earnings foundation for the period.
Operating expenses rose a contained 5.63% to Rs6.74bn while other income grew 31.08% to Rs2.17bn.
A net impairment loss on financial assets of Rs36.85m compared to a reversal of Rs3.48m in the prior year added marginal pressure.
The combined effect resulted in operating profit nearly tripling to Rs23.11bn from Rs8.69bn.
Below the operating line, net finance income declined 33.11% to Rs2.80bn from Rs4.19bn, as finance income contracted 24.50% to Rs4.28bn while finance costs remained broadly flat at Rs1.47bn.
Share of profit from associates declined 64.82% to Rs144.65m. Other charges doubled to Rs1.78bn from Rs883.66m, partially offsetting the strong operational gains.
Profit before income tax and final taxes stood at Rs24.28bn, nearly doubling from Rs12.40bn in 9MFY25.
With final taxes entirely absent in the current period, profit before taxation reached Rs24.28bn, a 95.77% expansion from Rs12.40bn.
Provision for taxation doubled to Rs9.52bn from Rs4.70bn, reflecting the significantly higher taxable profit base.
After accounting for taxation, Attock Petroleum Limited closed the nine-month period with a profit for the period of Rs14.76bn, representing a 91.78% expansion over the Rs7.70bn reported in the corresponding period of last year.
