July 01, 2026 (MLN): Lucky Cement Limited (PSX:LUCK) has successfully completed and commissioned a Process Optimization and Capacity Enhancement Project at its Karachi Plant, taking the plant's annual cement production capacity up by approximately 300,000 tons to 5,350,000 tons per annum from 5,050,000 tons per annum.
With this addition, the Company's total annual cement production capacity has reached 15,600,000 tons, further reinforcing its position as Pakistan's largest cement manufacturer.
Besides the capacity enhancement, it was stated that the project reflects the Company's continued commitment to operational excellence and sustainable growth.
Through targeted process improvements and technological upgrades, the project is expected to improve thermal efficiency, reduce specific fuel consumption, and lower coal usage per ton of cement produced.
These efficiencies are also expected to contribute towards reducing the carbon intensity of the Company's operations while supporting more efficient utilization of resources, it was added.
It was further stated that this milestone is aligned with the Company's long-term ambition to introduce innovative and efficient manufacturing processes, create sustainable value for its shareholders, and contribute positively to Pakistan's industrial development and sustainability goals.
