PSX Closing Bell: Bulls Seal the Deal

July 15, 2026 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index extending its recovery from the previous session's steep losses as investors continued value buying.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 175,285.78, up 1,766.97 points or 1.02%.

The index remained positive throughout the day, touching an intraday high of 176,701.38 (+3,182.57 points) and a low of 173,870.27 (+351.46 points).


The total volume traded in the KSE-100 Index stood at 248.39 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies, 82 closed higher, 17 ended lower, while 1 remained unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were TPLRF1 (+7.44%), NBP (+4.27%), AKBL (+3.29%), NPL (+2.88%), and ENGROH (+2.65%).

On the losing side were IBFL (-4.85%), TRG (-2.01%), BAHL (-1.35%), CPHL (-1.34%), and KEL (-1.20%).


In terms of index-point contributions, UBL (+263.58pts), ENGROH (+237.16pts), NBP (+149.09pts), MEBL (+147.49pts), and HBL (+108.33pts) provided the biggest support to the benchmark.

Meanwhile, BAHL (-68.21pts), TRG (-14.63pts), KEL (-8.69pts), IBFL (-8.66pts), and GHNI (-5.47pts) limited the gains.


Sector-wise, the KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+771.61pts), Investment Banks / Investment Companies / Securities Companies (+248.26pts), Fertilizer (+183.44pts), Cement (+171.09pts), and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+81.41pts).

On the downside, Synthetic & Rayon (-8.66pts), Refinery (-6.92pts), Pharmaceuticals (-0.58pts), Textile Spinning (-0.27pts), and Sugar & Allied Industries (+0.00pts) offered limited resistance.


In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 106,536.81, up 1,073.41 points or 1.02%.

Total market volume stood at 583.80 million shares, compared with 912.61m in the previous session, while traded value was recorded at Rs26.05bn, down Rs19.57bn.

A total of 370,588 trades were reported across 495 companies, with 361 stocks closing higher, 104 lower, and 30 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has lost 5,016 points or 2.78% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 1,231 points or 0.71% so far this calendar year.
