Automobile Assemblers: Jan’25: Passenger Vehicle Sales up 61%YoY - By Taurus Research

- According to data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturing Association (PAMA), automobile sales in Jan’25 exhibited an increase of 56% in volumes for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), and Jeeps, totaling 77,410 units in 7MFY25. Subsequently MoM sales experienced a 74% increase compared to Dec’24. INDU’s and HCAR’s market share rose by 3ppts and 2ppts respectively, compared to the last month. Whereas, market share for, PSMC and Hyundai declined by 13pptsMoM, and 3pptsMoM respectively.
- YoY growth in of sales during Jan’25 can be attributed to several factors, including falling inflation, lower fuel prices, reduction in interest rates and stable car prices along with the promotional offers and launch of new variants. Moreover, the Government is also mulling to increase the cap on auto financing from the PKR 3Mn to PKR 6Mn. As of Dec’24, Auto financing stood at ~PKR 236Bn, reflecting a 0.35%MoM increase.
