- The benchmark index closed on a positive note today. Sentiment improved as reports indicated that talks with Afghanistan authorities are underway to ease border-related trade and logistics disruptions In addition, policy developments including progress on circular debt financing also supported buying interest, particularly in energy stocks. Trading volumes increased to 225mn shares today as compared to 216mn shares in the previous session. Today, the KSE-100 index gained 1,946 points to close at 161,538 level, up by 1.22% DoD. Fertilizer, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies, and Cement sectors were the major contributors in today's session, cumulatively adding 1181 points to the index.
